Abstract

Abstract: One of the wild betta endemic to the island of Sumatra is Betta cf raja.  Currently, it is difficult to find populations in the wild. Overfishing and habitat degradation are suspected to be the triggers. Based on field observations, natural habitats are still found in Jambi, Riau and North Sumatra Provinces.  The study of bioecological aspects is important, considering that Betta cf raja has been included in the IUCN redlist.  The study aimed to analyse the growth patterns and condition factors of Betta cf raja fish in Sumatra. The number of fish measured at each location was 15 individuals. Analysis of growth patterns using Linear Allometric Model (LAM). The results of statistical analysis of Betta cf raja are negative allometric. The results of the analysis of condition factors are still favourable for the life of Betta cf raja.
